Family Reunion Time!

With Mom And Dad leaving for their mission in the near future, it seems like this summer would be a great time to all get together for a family reunion before they leave. Beebs and Mom and I discussed some of the possibilities when she was up here the past few days. We'd like to get together somewhere and spend about a week sitting around with calendars on our laps and talking about embarrassing bodily functions. And maybe some other stuff, too. Some possibilities: Rent a big place (akin to Beebs' grandparents'-in-law place we went to several years ago) in the Utah-Idaho area; go somewhere NONE of us live; rent the Badger Creek facilities and make the kids do the ropes course; blah, blah, blah.

We can't make more firm plans until the folks' mission call comes, but we can put our thinking caps on. Some things that will need to be done: scheduling; t-shirt design; menu planning; etc. Please post your ideas here on Findelmeyer. Thanks!

Get Well Soon!

This is a note to Mom - - get to the doctor and get better soon! The Garners are all so sorry you aren't feeling well! We love you!

Squash recipe

You might or might not know that I am not a fan of squash. I just don't like it. But, we are growing it in our garden, so I have to figure out some way to make it so I'll eat it. I looked up some recipes, but eventually just made one up. And guess what? Delicious!
Try it and let me know what you think.

Cut squash into 1/4 in circles and lay out in a pan (however much you want). (when I made this, I layered it, but for the future I will just have one layer).

Crush some Ritz crackers (I didn't have any, but I had some wheat crackerish things, so whatever will work--and just however many you have. For one pan, I'd put maybe a cup of crushed crackers.)

Mix crackers with 2 tsp dill (or however much...) and 1 tsp minced garlic (or garlic salt or whatever).

Put dabs of butter on squash (if desired) then sprinkle cracker mixture over. Top with shredded cheese. (I only had Cheddar Jack, but I am sure anything will work).

Put in oven for 350 until you think it is done. (I waited til the top of mine was nice and crusty, maybe 35 minutes).

Hope you like it!
